Pressiat “Burning Era”: Assumed Subversion

As rain threatened on the first day of Paris Fashion Week, Pressiat’s Spring/Summer 2025 show thrilled guests with an electrifying and ultra-sensual staging.

Under the direction of young designer Vincent Garnier Pressiat, the collection entitled “Burning Era” transported the public into a universe where elegance and subversion meet.

Held on Rue de Montmorency, the event transformed the Parisian street into a captivating stage. Accompanied by singer Rebecca and the band Lulu Von Trapp, the presentation took place to hypnotic music created by Mila Morgensztern (Imalaya Music). Despite the rain, the show’s overflowing energy swept away the Parisian gloom, captivating an enthusiastic audience that included Joey Starr, Keiona, Honey Balenciaga and Ellen Von Unwerth in the front row.

A captivating and provocative universe

The first silhouettes appear, and we are immediately captivated. Pressiat immerses us in a world where Parisian elegance meets an assumed subversion. From ultra-shiny vinyl trench coats to ruffled leather mini-skirts, each piece imposes a style that is both sophisticated and insolent. The tight dresses and XXL volumes exuded a self-confidence that left no one indifferent.

But beyond the clothes, it is her entire universe that seduces. Inspired by her own wild nights, the collection breathes freedom, celebration, but also a certain melancholy. We flirt with duality: structured and powerful, almost imposing clothes, which contrast with softer, draped, feminine cuts. Each piece seemed to tell a story, like this cracked leather jacket with exaggerated shoulders or these asymmetrical dresses subtly slit, perfect for an unexpected evening in Paris.

And then there are the accessories. Here too, Pressiat dares to be avant-garde with collaborations that hit the mark: Thierry Lasry’s aviator glasses give a detached and cool look, Vanilla Verloës’ 3D-printed resin scarves intrigue with their almost alien look, and what about Mario Emanuele Salini’s futuristic masks? Details that add to the feeling that Pressiat’s fashion is not simply made to be worn, but to be experienced.

An underlying message: Beauty & Chaos

The theme of “Burning Era” resonates particularly strongly in our current context. It is a cry of both alarm and hope. Watching these models parade in the rain, we question this world that sometimes seems to burn, these crises that surround us. And yet, Pressiat finds a way to transform this chaos into something beautiful, almost magical. The references to Burning Man are not there by chance: it is the idea of total freedom, of a space where everything is possible, even in the heart of a crisis.

Vincent Garnier Pressiat proves that even in turbulent times, fashion can be a beacon of hope. This collection celebrates the resilience of the human spirit, alternating strength and vulnerability, structure and fluidity.
